How do we help farmers & society?
It is our mission and privilege to introduce to the world high-quality products produced by hard-working people in Vietnam. Furthermore, 10% of the net profit from eco-Matcha sales will go to charity to support New Zealand people in need.
By purchasing the eco-Matcha you may have a chance to make someone’s life better.
A bit of history...:
After a thousand years under Chinese rule, a further hundred
years colonization by the French, and twenty years in the cruellest war from
1954 to 1975, with restricted policies for crop production up until 1989 life
as a Vietnamese farmer was by no means easy.
For centuries and till this day sixty-seven per cent of
Vietnam’s population live in a rural environment. The average working time of
Vietnamese farmer is 12 hours 7 days a week. They start the working day before
sunrise, have a short break during the day time when the heat is the worst and come
back to the field working until the dark.
Since 1989, enjoying freedom from restricted production
under the compromised land reform, farmers boosted crop production aiming for
opening door for export.
Unfortunately, the biggest obstacles to the
farmer’s progress are the inefficient trade systems between the farm gate and the export enterprises, and lack of access to international food markets. The more
remote the rural areas the less farmer have a chance to promote the result of
laborious work.
Very often whole members of a village are involved in the
collective farming work. Successful trade means a lot to them. This is where
Alfa Medics NZ Ltd has decided to help green tea growers in Vietnam by
introducing to the whole world an amazing taste of matcha tea also known as green tea powder.
